Karnataka State budget for 2013-2014 – a revised one was presented chief minister of the newly formed congress government Siddaramaiah looked at four of the 12 demands put forward.

The subsidy on the basis of quality of Kannada films from existing 75 has been increased to 100. A further relief of Rs.2.5 crores from the new government!

It is a good relief to Exhibitor sectors as the service charge has been hiked from Rs.1.50 to Rs.3 per ticket. Of course it is a further strain on the audiences who have to cough up a little more.

On the issue of Dr Rajakumar Memorial the budget papers indicate that first stage of work has been completed. It will be declared open to public soon.

On sanction of 2 acres of land for Dr Vishnuvardhana Memorial from the existing 2 acres of land Karnataka government has shown magnanimity. The litigation land of 2 acres where Dr Vishnuvardhana was cremated would come to the kitty of Dr Vishnuvardhana Memorial after some point of time.

For the construction of Amrutha Bhavana that was declared by earlier government on 2.2 acres of land at Nandini Layout the state budget has allocated Rs.2.5 crores for the first stage of building.
